Holland Camp 2001
This year the Scouts Annual Camp will be held between 28th july and 5th August at St Walricks, Nijmegan, The Netherlands. We will be joining them for this camp and hopefully learn something about the Netherlands. Activities are likely to include cycling, hiking, water sports and visits to the Arnhem Battlefields, Nijmegan and other tourist attractions.
It was decided to go to the Netharlands as part of the scouts 'rolling' program in order to introduce an International element into the comprehensive scouting program.
There are added costs to going abroad so the camp fee is higher than usual at £130, but the fee has been subsidised by fundraising activities. This is anticipated to amount to approximately £2-3000 this year. Each fee has been subsidised to the tune of ~£70.
Care will be taken to ensure safe and correct supervision in all things we do. The scouts will travel under a collective passport, but Venture Scouts and Leaders will also require individual passports. More details information will follow, and nearer the date a camp open meeting will be organised at which parents, scouts, ventures and scouters will have the oppertunity for discusion about the holiday.
All scouts and ventures must have a completed 'permision to camp' form. A deposit must be paid by 23rd February, and the balance of the fee can be paid by 8th June.
